THE WORLD WAS YOURS @ THE TANK

This June, I took planes, trains, and automobiles to get to NYC for a reading of William Ivers' The World Was Yours after a storm cancelled my original travel accommodations. It was wild, and so is this play! I love how its characters explore how artists talk to each other across generations, which is a feat I think we all need more practice in on a broader level. I played Joy, a muralist who wants to yell her opinions as loud as she can, partly because she doesn't feel like she can be heard. This is different from my quiet, contemplative approach but reminded me of my younger peers. As someone who straddles the cusp between millennial and Gen Z, I felt like I had a unique perspective on where generations miss each other, and where they say something profound.
