MY SUMMER WITH RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN

I spent much of my time in their archival closet, organizing everything from original sheet music to demo tapes to merchandise. It's sweet to see just how many generations can be affected by the same stories. My own grandparents went on their first date to see The Sound of Music  in movie theaters, and so this closeness to the same story as their origins felt special to me. 

I also learned lots of marketing, from influencer partnerships to social listening skills to how marketing planning timelines work. I'm a whiz at Excel sheets and finding niche Tik Toks! Most of all, I am grateful to my wonderful mentors in my time here on the Brand team.

This summer, I worked as the Brand Marketing Intern at Concord Theatricals in NYC, meaning I spent loads of time with Rodgers & Hammerstein and Marvin Hamlisch! This marked my first time living in New York, and I deeply understand the love for the culture-filled, theatre-loving, walkable city.

On my very first day, we celebrated 80 years of Rodgers & Hammerstein with a pre-screening of the Royal National Theatre's production of their first musical together, Oklahoma! This version stars Hugh Jackman and marked my first time ever seeing this particular musical.
