LOBBY DISPLAYS

Lobby Display for Baylor Theatre 2020-2022

I was tasked with creating a lobby display for Baylor Theatre that welcomes audiences back after a COVID year, excites them for what's to come, and also offers patrons a way of feeling a part of the 2020-2021 year, which they were unable to join us in-person for. On the left, you will see our 2021-2022 season, including a Welcome note from Dean Dr. DeAnna Toten Beard, links to purchase and read all the scripts of the season, as well as small sneak peeks into each show of the upcoming season. On the right, the gray side, we have a ghostlight to commemorate the past year, a QR link to our online Archives where pictures, video, and programs of the past season's shows are available, and student design work that deserved another look!

Our season brochure features a ghostlight moment with the actress playing Dogberry, used in the radio play concept of Much Ado About Nothing that concluded the 2020-2021 season.

Each show has iconic signifiers, but Moon Man Walk is my personal favorite! I was able to get in touch with a local Waco artist, Whitney DuMenil, to include her beautiful artwork of this child.

This is complemented by an explanation of the lore of ghostlights and how we've kept ours on for our patrons... until now!

Below, you see intricate detail work done by student props artisans Shelby Adams and Izzy Poehlmann on a deer prop for She Kills Monsters and a candle headpiece conceived and crafted by student costumer Mary Swanson. Both of these productions were filmed, but their work deserved more viewing time than the mere minutes they were on screen!
